The exquisite Suikyo Woodwind tea is made from tea leaves that come from an old, unstraightened tea mountain. After harvesting, these leaves are carefully spread out to wither. Suikyo has found a special place for this process in the middle of a small wooded area not far from the tea garden. The duration of withering varies between 12 and 20 hours and depends on the color of the leaves, which are deliberately kept in their rich green. As soon as a change in color towards red or brown tones is registered, the leaves are immediately steamed and carefully dried in the nearby processing facility. Suikyo Woodwind is characterized by its clear infusion, delicate fragrance and incomparable lightness.
Each pack contains 50 grams of this exquisite tea variety, which takes you into the mysterious world of Japanese tea art. Suikyo Woodwind has been carefully created for tea connoisseurs who want to experience the authentic taste of Japan.

The Suikyo Tea Garden
The Suikyo Tea Garden is deeply rooted in the traditional methods of tea cultivation and at the same time stands for innovation and creativity. Run by Fumiaki and Luna, it is located near the historic city of Nara, known for its ancient temples and picturesque hilly landscape. With its different soil types, this environment offers enormous potential for the unique flavors that characterize Suikyo's teas in an extraordinary way.
"Tea gardens" versus "tea mountains" at Suikyo in Nara
An important aspect of Suikyo's philosophy is the distinction between "tea garden" and "tea mountain". While the tea gardens (ocha-batake) are specially prepared and laid out for the mechanized agriculture of modern times, the tea mountains (ocha-yama) consist of untouched, naturally grown areas. Here, the tea plants grow from seed and develop deep taproots that can fully utilize the nutrients of the deeper soil layers. These traditional methods, combined with the dedication and expertise of Fumiaki and Luna, make the Suikyo tea garden a haven of the finest tea quality.
