Hanomi Uji Matcha is a true jewel among Japanese teas. With its noble origins in the historic tea region of Uji, which is considered the cradle of "true tea" in Japan, this matcha represents the best of the traditional art of tea. The Nakanishi family's tea garden, where this exceptional tea is grown, is a prime example of organic farming. The Nakanishis grow the finest tea leaves on only around 1.25 hectares of land under carefully arranged shading, completely without agricultural chemicals.
Careful production by hand
The magic of Hanomi Uji Matcha begins with the careful hand harvest. After the harvest in late April, the leaves are carefully processed, first into tencha and then ground in a traditional stone mill. Apart from a few mechanized steps involving the separation of the leaf veins, the entire production process is carried out by hand. This dedication to manual work gives Hanomi Uji Matcha its special quality and purity.
Taste experience for connoisseurs
At first, Hanomi Uji Matcha surprises with an exciting fruity note that is almost free of astringency. On the finish, the tea reveals a soft, creamy aftertaste with a gentle hint of sweetness. Unlike the Takeno Jôô Uji Matcha, this matcha offers a more subtle umami experience, accompanied by a barely perceptible astringency.

Preparation recommendation: Use 1-2 grams of matcha per 120 ml of water at an optimum temperature of 65°C to a maximum of 80°C.
